Background
OpenOutcrop was
developed to fill a need for a robust, easy to use and comprehensive
interpretation system for outcrop data. OpenOutcrop accepts Wavefront
obj and Stanford ply 3D models. It features full export capabilities to
Petrel™. OpenOutcrop has been designed to be used primarily by geoscientists,
particularly geologists,
geophysicists, reservoir engineers and sedimentologists. If you’ve never used
OpenOutcrop before we recommend that you read the sections on getting
started, using the tree view and basic navigation (links on the left hand side of this page). OpenOutcrop was
developed for ANLEC by Teraterra Pty Ltd in 2021. We plan to release an open source version sometime later this year if there is
sufficient demand from the developer community. Acknowledgement The authors wish to acknowledge
financial assistance provided through Australian National Low Emissions Coal
Research and Development (ANLEC R&D). ANLEC R&D is supported by Low
Emission Technology Australia (LETA) and the Australian Government through
